Eye Doc Recruiting is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Optical Sales Associate to join a respected private eye care practice in Midland Park, New Jersey. As an Optical Sales Associate, you will play a key role in the patient experience by assisting with eyewear selection, verifying insurance benefits, processing optical orders, and educating patients on the latest lens technology. Optical Sales Associate Responsibilities

As an Optical Sales Associate, you will:

• Deliver exceptional customer service from check-in through eyewear dispensing.
• Verify vision insurance eligibility and explain available patient benefits.
• Process orders for prescription eyeglasses and contact lenses accurately.
• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and premium lens options that best fit their lifestyle and vision needs.
• Educate patients on lens materials, coatings, blue light protection, progressive lenses, and other vision solutions.
• Coordinate with optical laboratories regarding order status and delivery timelines.
• Perform billing, documentation, and order tracking with a high level of accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organized optical dispensary while supporting the doctors and clinical staff.
• Build long-term patient relationships through outstanding service and product knowledge.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years of optical sales, optical retail, or optician experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and sales skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with vision insurance verification is preferred.
